He handed out gifts above and below, filled heaven with his gifts, filled earth with his gifts. He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christ's followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ's body, the church, until we're all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God's Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ. Ephesians 4:10-13

…When the Bible speaks of "the church," it is not referring to the pretty sanctuary, nursery rooms, committees or denominations. It is speaking of the people-the body of Christ--building and growing God's church by interacting each day, both in secular and non-secular settings, spreading the Gospel through word and action.

Sometimes, that can be difficult, or intimidating. We may not be particularly good at talking to people, or don't feel like we have much to offer in a spiritual sense.

Believe it or not, that is OK. Because the good news is that God has uniquely gifted each of us to serve Him.
